About
SUN Yongming is Deputy Director of the Guangzhou Institute of Energy, Chinese Academy of Sciences; a Level 2 Professor; and a doctoral advisor. His research primarily focuses on the resource utilization of organic waste and strategic studies on biomass energy, with an emphasis on the development of key technologies for the anaerobic conversion of organic waste; the formulation of bio-enhanced microbial agents; the preparation of carbon-based materials from fermentation residues and the targeted production of high-value fertilizers; micro-circulation ecological demonstration projects for organic-inorganic waste; demonstration projects for energy crop cultivation and marginal land remediation; and green energy demonstration projects for harmonious rural communities. In recent years, he has led 21 national and provincial/ministerial-level projects. He has published 167 papers, 40 of which he authored as first or corresponding author; he holds 69 authorized invention patents and 18 authorized utility model patents; has co-authored 8 books; and has received 6 awards, including the First Prize of the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Award.
He concurrently serves as Director of the National Energy Biofuel R&D Center; Deputy Director of the Biomass Energy Professional Committee and Deputy Director of the Youth Working Committee of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society; Vice President of the China Biogas Society; and Executive Director of the China Rural Energy Industry Association.
