The project “Research and application of key technique for anaerobic fermentation with mixed & high concentrated feedstock ", undertaken by Biomass Biochemical Conversion Laboratory of Guangzhou Institute of Energy (GIEC), was passed the Appraisal for Scientific and Technical Achievements in April 28, 2014.The appraisal team consists of seven experts from domestic universities and research institutes.
Through the project, Prof. YUAN Zhenhong and his team successfully invented the technology and associated equipment of straw pretreatment, MSW water separation and anaerobic fermentation with mixed & high concentrated feedstock, builtanaerobic fermentation database and compatibility equations of more than 140 raw materials, developed new process ofanaerobic fermentationwith mixed & high concentrated feedstock and constructed demonstration project of 500 m3 scale. Related technologies and processes have been promoted and applied locally.
The appraisal team acknowledged that the technology is highly innovative and advanced, and also suggested itsfurther popularization and application.
