About

I earned my Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from University College Cork (UCC) in 2022, supported by a doctoral fellowship from the Irish Environmental Protection Agency. Following a postdoctoral tenure at UCC, I joined the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), as a Full Professor in 2023.

Over the past five years, I have co-authored 23 peer-reviewed publications, including 10 as first or corresponding author in premier journals such as Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Water Research, and Resources, Conservation and Recycling, with an average impact factor (IF) exceeding 11. Since establishing my independent research group, I have secured approximately 6.5 million CNY (~USD 900,000) in competitive research funding.

My academic contributions have been recognized through several prestigious honors, most notably the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad, a global distinction granted to only 600 recipients annually. Additionally, I was appointed as a “Distinguished Backbone Researcher” by the CAS and received the Young Outstanding Contribution Award from the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association—one of the nation’s most influential organizations in the circular economy sector.
