About
ZANG Xiaoya is a distinguished expert in energy and environmental engineering. She earned her B.E. from Kunming University of Science and Technology in 2005, followed by her M.S. and Ph.D. in Thermal Engineering from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2008 and 2012, respectively.
She is currently a Professor at the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), a Ph.D. Student Supervisor and M.S. Student Advisor at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and serves as the Deputy Director of the Natural Gas Hydrate Research Center. She is a recipient of the Top Young Talent award from the Guangdong Special Support Program (2024) and has been a Member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association, CAS, since 2019.
Prof. Zang has dedicated her career to research on hydrate-based technologies, with a focus on CO₂ separation, capture, and storage. Her significant contributions span the fields of multi-scale gas hydrate formation and dissociation kinetics, hydrate-based gas separation and purification, and the microscopic characteristics of hydrates in multi-component complex systems.
She has led numerous national and provincial-level projects as Principal Investigator, including the General Program and Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), sub-projects of the National Key R&D Program, the NSFC-Guangdong Joint Fund, the Youth Innovation Promotion Association Project, and key programs from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology. To date, she has published over 50 academic papers and holds 10 patents as the first inventor or corresponding author. Prof. Zang is also frequently invited to serve as a Guest Editor and Reviewer for several SCI-indexed journals.
