CHEN Zhaoyang is a Professor in Guangzhou Energy Conversion Institute (GIEC), Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Science and Technology of China. He worked on science and technology of natural gas hydrate in GIEC successively as assistant researcher, associate researcher, researcher, deputy director of the Lab, doctoral supervisor, etc. His main research areas include efficient exploitation and safety control technology of natural gas hydrates, exploration technology and equipment for underwater hydrate reservoirs, gas hydrate application technology, etc. He has published over 200 papers, obtained over 80 invention patents, and won one Second Prize for National Technological Invention and six other provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological awards.
