About
Dr. JIAO Zhongtian earned his Ph.D. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Science and Technology from Northwestern Polytechnical University in 2025, specializing in the field of rotating detonation combustion. His doctoral research focused on the characteristics of the combustion process and pressure gain of rotating detonations utilizing liquid hydrocarbon fuels, such as kerosene, diesel, and gasoline.
Dr. JIAO has participated in several significant research programs supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Aerospace Propulsion Institutes, gaining practical experience in the numerical simulation, theoretical modeling and strucural design of rotating detonation combustors.
Currently, as a postdoc at the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, CAS, he is dedicated to exploring the potential of rotating detonations utilizing zero-carbon and low-carbon fuels, and aims to contribute to the advancement of energy applications for detonation devices.
