For over 40 years since founding, Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion (GIEC) , Chinese Academy of Sciences has been devoted to renewable energy and new energy R&D, yielding a series of significant original achievements in the fields of renewable energy utilization and system integration, new energy development and utilization, as well as energy strategy and low-carbon development. We bear in mind that, as a national team, we must be mindful of national affairs and be guided by the national strategic needs.

By making strategic, forward-looking and fundamental contributions to sciences and technology, GIEC is endowed with the responsibility to boost China's renewable energy development, and promote commercialization with independent intellectual property rights. We have established a comprehensive utilization system of cold and heat power of renewable energy, with clean and renewable energy as the main body and multiple energy complementing each other. GIEC has become the most important research and industrial application base for clean renewable energy in China.

In response to information technology development, GIEC is also actively exploring the integration and innovation of energy digital technology, accelerating the key technologies of integrated energy, system integration and optimization by means of informatization and artificial intelligence, so as to promote the coordinated development of the entire renewable energy industry chain.
