The Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of New and Renewable Energy
The Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of New and Renewable Energy was first conceived and prepared for application since 1995. It was formally approved for its first phase of construction in 1999 and the second phase of construction in 2003, and passed the assessment and acceptance.
Its strategic task is to explore new and renewable energy utilization technology. The Lab. has set up the research fields on new and renewable energy, with solar energy, ocean energy, biomass, geothermal energy, solid waste energy, and gas hydrate as its main orientation.The lab has put together an outstanding academic team and enjoys the high reputation in the related areas.
The Lab. has annually 52 papers collected by SCI or EI, 23 applied patents, 13 authorized patents, 3 provincial awards, and received the project funds 22 million Yuan.
Key Lab of Renewable Energy and Natural Gas Hydrate, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was formally approved and entitled by Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2001.
The lab is initiatively dedicated to the identification, promotion and facilitation of sustainable solutions to the energy problem. The overall aim is integration of a wide range of innovative scientific and technological research, including economic and social research, to explore and develop renewable energy and makes the lab the innovation base and a talent incubator of the renewable energy and natural gas hydrate researches.
