Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion celebrate the 30th anniversary

Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was founded in Oct, 1978. It becomes the only ‘’National Renewable Energy Technology & International R&D Center’’ in June 2008.
Giec adhere the new and renewable energy technology as the main research field but also the energy saving & emission reduction technology, which play as an important role in the national energy strategy. At present, the institute is subdivided into several research groups: solar energy, ocean energy, biomass, geothermal energy, solid waste energy, nature gas hydrate and energy saving & emission reduction. Giec owns 2 key laboratories. One is CAS key lab of Renewable and Natural Gas hydrate. The other is Guangdong provincial key lab of new and renewable energy development and application. Now there are 195 staffs in total, one Doctor and five masters cultivating points.
The 30th anniversary celebration convention was held at the plaza of Giec on November 15, 2008. More than 300 people attended in the celebration convention. The secretary of the Party committee of Giec, Mr. Chen churong preside at the ceremony, Director of Giec, Mr. Wu chuangzhi, gave an ebullient speech.
