On Nov. 11, Prof. Penny Sackeet, a chief scientist from Australia, visited GIEC, Accompanied by Mr. Yip Yang, who are from Australian embassy at China. Dr. Wu Chuangzhi, the head of GIEC, welcomed the distinguished guests.
　 During the conversation, Dr. Wu introduced thoroughly the research work being carried on in GIEC and the relative achievements as well. Prof. Penny Sackett showed great interests to the GIEC’s research work in the field of solar energy、 ocean energy and geothermal energy. Based on the current energy situation of both countries, Prof. Penny Sackett and the experts of GIEC exchanged views in terms of energy situation and energy structure. Considering the practical situation of Australia, it was agreed that both sides have great cooperation potential in the field of geothermal energy、natural gas hydrate、 ocean energy、low-carbon economy and the climate change and so on.
　 After the conversation, Prof. Penny Sackett visited Solar Energy Laboratory、Energy Strategy Center and Ocean Energy Laboratory.
