State Department Official Visited Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion
Ms.Loren Braunohler, from State Department, visited Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion (GIEC) on Jan.8. She is a government official in charge of the relationships between China and USA in the fields of energy and environment.
Pro. Zhao Daiqing, director of Energy Strategy Research Center of GIEC, introduced the center about the research orientation and the work carried on in the field of low-carbon economy. Dr. Liao Chuiping introduced the cooperation progress with USA in terms of strategy research. Dr. Luo Zhigang, advanced assistant in the secretariat of South China Climate Change Network, briefly talked the idea about setting up the network and the further plan as well.
Ms.Loren Braunohler said that she hopes to enhance the cooperation with GIEC in the clean energy technique, especially the climate change and low-carbon fields.
Mr. Andrew Griffin, government official from Consulate General in Guangzhou, visited GIEC as well. He reviewed the convention of South China Climate Change Network, and emphasized that it is very necessary for two sides to start the cooperation through this platform. He also said that the Consulate General is going to put great effort in building a bridge between two sides exchange.
