Dr. Wei Dan from US Center for Climate Strategy Visits GIEC

Dr. Wei Dan, from Center for Climate Strategy, Visited Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion (GIEC) on Aug. 20, and gave an academic lecture entitled “influence analysis of climate action plan on state macro-economy”.

In the lecture, Dr. Wei introduced the actions that US climate strategy center develops to fight climate change, the background and significance to analyze the macro-economy influence of state/district climate action plan. She also introduced REMI mode in detail, which is used for analyzing macro-economy influence of state climate action plan. By taking the case of Pennsylvania, Dr. Wei explained in detail about REMI mode and related method, principle, process and results. It is shown that the economy influences of climate policies can be evaluated well by Macro-economy analysis, and it is considered as an efficient tool for government to develop state/district climate actions.
