Xiaogang, director of New Energy Research Center (CNOOC General Institute), and other four members, visited Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion (GIEC) on Oct 13, with the purpose of investigating new energy development and ocean energy technology of GIEC. Wu Chuangzhi, director of GIEC, welcomed the visitors.

Jiangyang, Vice Director of Scientific and Technical Department of GIEC, introduced the overall situation of GIEC and its research fields, groups and directions. Wu Bijun, adjunct professor of Ocean Energy Lab., talked about ocean wave energy technique and its prospect. With mutual interests, both side made further discussions on the issues of new energy development situation, prospect and tendency.

After the meeting, the visitors looked around ocean energy lab.
