Workshop on distributed power generation and smart grid technology was held on Nov.20 to 23, in Sanya, Hainan province. More than 100 academicians, experts and researches engaging in the research of energy and power generation attended the workshop and carried out academic exchanges.

During the workshop, the concept of power grid and its implementation approaches in power generation systems were discussed, which provided guidelines for the constructions of smart grid in China. Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion (GIEC) also introduced the research work about independent micro distributed power generation system with multi-energy complementary in island.

The holding of the workshop, in one hand, strengthened GIEC’s communication and connection with peers working in power generation system; in other hand, played an important role in promoting GIEC’s research in the independent micro-grid system in island.
