Jointly sponsored by Guangdong Research Institute of International Strategy and Guangdong Promotion Committee of Low Carbon Development, the International forum on Guangdong’s low carbon development was successfully held in Guangzhou on Nov. 10th, 2011.

With the theme of “ Low Carbon Action: Innovation and Practice in Guangdong Province”, the forum was attended by over 200 representatives from a wide range of fields, including municiple development and reform commissions, provincial expert committee of low carbon development, provincial low carbon promotion committee, universities and colleges, research institutes, enterprises, and non-governmental organiazations,etc. During the forum, Mr. Su Wei, director of the Climate Change Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, Mr. Lin Yaojun, director of the resource, enviornment and climate department of Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Ms. Zhao Daiqing, deputy dirctor of Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, CAS and standing vice president of Guangdong Provincial Low Carbon Promotion Committee, Doc. Nigel Berkeley, an low carbon expert from Conventry University, UK, and Doc. Zhou Nan from China Energy Research Society of LBNL were all invited to give excellent speeches.

The attending representatives had a heated discussion with the experts and scholars on the innovation and pracice for low carbon development. All in all, the forum proved itself to be a great success for knocking-on sparks of thinking on low carbon development.
