Prof. Haibin Li attended the “8th Biomass-Asia Workshop” held in Hanoi, Vietnam, during November 29—December 1, 2011. The subject of this workshop was “Biomass as sustainable energy and environmental technology”.

173 delegates from more than 10 Asian countries took part in this event. 4 sessions were included in the workshop: Sustainable  Biomass Utilization, Industrialization of Biomass Energy Researches, Sustainable Utilization of Regional Biomass for Rural  Development, Environmental Technology for Sustainable Biomass Production.

The topic of Prof. Li’s presentation was “R&D of Biomass Energy in Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion”.  The research and development in the field of biomass energy of GIEC, including biochemical, thermal chemical and catalytic  conversion were summarized. Experiences on the cooperation development of biomass energy utilization in South East Asian  countries were briefly introduced.
