On April 9th, a delegation of 24 people from University Putra Malaysia (UPM) visited Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, CAS (GIEC).

Firstly, prof. Wu Chuangzhi, president of GIEC, extended warmly welcome to the delegation on behalf of the whole institute. Afterwards, prof. Li Haibin introduced the general condition and main research fields of GIEC, focusing on the research progress in biomass energy. Prof. Arbakariya Bin Ariff also gave a brief introduction of UPM and its Faculty of Biotechnology & Biomolecular Sciences, stressing UPM’s strength in high level teaching staff and research ability. The delegation showed intense interest in the GIEC’s institute structure, research accomplishments, talent nurturing, and international exchanges and cooperation, etc, expressing their willingness to strenghten parternership between UPM and GIEC.

After the meeting, the delegation also paid a visit to laboratories of GIEC.
