Organized by Hungarian Scientific Energy Management Association, the 19th Seminar on Scientific Management and Innovation of Energy was convened in Visegrad, Hungary during May 9th-11th. Associate researcher Kong Xiaoying and Dr. Li Dong from Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, CAS attended the seminar.

With the theme of Hungarian energy management and innovation, this seminar is an attempt to seek energy strategies and transfer technologies that facilitate energy supply and defend its security in Hungary. Many areas were covered, including geothermal energy, solar energy, biomass energy and hydrogen, etc. Dr. Li Dong delivered a presentation named “The Progress of Biomass Energy and Biogas in China”, in which he introduced the energy demand, biomass resource, biomass technology and policy in China, elaborating the industrial development of biogas. Experts present highly appreciated the efforts exerted by Chinese colleagues in the field of biomass energy. Dr. Kong Xiaoying and Dr. Li Dong had an in-depth exchange of ideas with experts from various other countries on issues such as biomass bio-chemical conversion utilization, biogas preparation and purification, etc.

Attending this seminar holds positive significance for GIEC to expand its international influence in the field of biomass research, and also lays a solid foundation for future international cooperation in the relative fields.
