Renowned biomass professor of The University of British Columbia(UBC) and academician of The Royal Society of Canada(RSC) paid a visit to GuangZhou Institute of Energy Conversion(GIEC) on Sep.5.

Longlong,Ma, the party secretary of GIEC met with Pro.Saddler, and introduced biomass energy research work of GIEC, especially introduced the patterns of structure and achievements of Alliance of Liquid Fuel from Biomass. Pro.Saddler gave a brief situation of International Energy Agency (IEA) and main research fields of UBC, and he expressed his wish that GIEC will be one of IEA. Both conducted a in-depth discussion and reached a long-term cooperation.

 After meeting, Pro.Saddler gave the students and researchers of GIEC a wonderful talk "How improved enzymes can help us evolve from a Hydrocarbon based to a Carbohydrate/Biomass based Economy" .
