Doctor Peter Schultheiss, the chief scientist and the president of UK Geotek, and Doctor Melanie Holland paid a visit to Guangzhou Institute of Energy Coversion (GIEC) on Jan.17,2013.

Doctor Peter Schultheiss gave a report titled “Onboard Core Analysis and Measurements in Recent Gas Hydrate Expeditions” which mainly introduced the technology and advances of core analysis and test during hydrate reservoir drilling in Korea and Japan. Subsequently, two experts and young researchers from GIEC conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on gas hydrate geochemical academic problem.

Doctor Peter Schultheiss and Doctor Melanie Holland have attended many hydrate reservoir drilling concrete practice, including natural gas hydrate ocean drilling, JIP of Gulf of Mexiko and many national level drilling project, such as India, China, Korea and Japan. Therefore, these two experts have rich experience in natural gas hydrate measurement ,core analysis and geological research.

UK Geotek and GIEC expressed that they would strengthen cooperation on natural gas hydrates drilling and study in South China Sea.
