During March 14th-16th, the "2nd Deep-earth Geothermal Energy Efficient Development andUtilization Meeting", co-undertaken by China University of Geosciences, Beijing and the Institute of Hydrogeology and Environmental Geology, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences was held in Beijing.

During the meeting, reports were delivered by present experts and scholars on such issues as the present and future of international geothermal research, and also problems encountered and progresses achieved in the R&D of geothermal energy. Three experts from Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, CAS also made speeches, including Prof. Nengyou Wu with the topic "Research in Site Selection of China's EGS", Prof. Fangming Jiang with the topic "Numerical Simulation Analysis of Enhanced Geothermal System Underground Percolation and Heating Process", and Dr. Yuchao Zeng with the topic "Numerical simulation of heat production potential from hot dry rock by water circulating through two horizontal wells at Desert Peak geothermal field".
