GIEC and CSST Co-establishes Joint Research Center for Urban Mines
On March 12, 2014, Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, CAS (GIEC) and China Security &Surveillance Technology, Inc. (CSST) signed strategic cooperation agreement to establish joint research center for urban mines.
According to the agreement, CSST Research Center and GIEC will join hands in R&D of urban mines, new and renewable energy, energy saving and environment protection technology. The two sides will further improve exchanges of talents and resources, strengthen cooperation in technology commercialization, push forward technology innovation, thus jointly contributing to the construction and development of CSST Smart Low-carbon Demonstration Region.
CAE academician CHEN Yong and GIEC president WU Chuangzhi had an in-depth discussion with CSST board chairman and CEO TU Guoshen. Academician CHEN pointed out the significance of developing research in urban mines treatment, emphasized that the key to building smart low-carbon city and driving forward new-type urbanization is to carry out energy innovation and urban mines treatment. Prof. WU said that GIEC and CSST are highly mutual complementary, as GIEC is expert in new energy utilization in rural areas, replacing fossil fuel by agricultural &forestry wastes’ gasification, and bio-organic fertilizer industrialization, while CSST has successful experience in eco-agriculture and new country projects.
