DING Zhongli Visits GIEC
On March 20, 2014, DING Zhongli, vice president of Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, CAS (GIEC).
First of all, Prof. WU Chuangzhi, director general of GIEC, extended warmly welcome on behalf of the institute. Afterwards, GIEC party secretary Prof. Ma Longlong, deputy director Prof. ZHAO Daiqing and Prof. WU Nengyou respectively reported about the institute’s postgraduate education, low-carbon development strategy, and overall progress of R&D.
DING fully acknowledged achievements yielded by GIEC. He hopes that by concentrating on the core competitive areas and relying on the talent policies regionally and nationally, GIEC would be able to draw in more talents, and strengthen technology commercialization and internationalization, thus making great contribution to the society.
After the meeting, DING also visited the biomass research center, natural gas hydrate research center, ocean energy center, and analysis &test center. Professors in GIEC elaborately introduced gas anaerobic fermentation system, bio-gasoline and jet fuel production from biomass by aqueous phase catalytic processing, wave energy power generation facilities, and natural gas hydrate three-dimensional simulation mining equipment.
