Professor Hui-Fang Xu from University of Wisconsin Visits GIEC
On August 13th, Professor Hui-Fang Xu from Institute of Geoscience, University of Wisconsin, USA is invited to visit GuangZhou Institute of Energy Conversion (GIEC) and conducts academic exchanges with the scholars in the GIEC. Prof. Neng-You Wu, the deputy director of the institute, and professor De-Qing Liang, as the representatives give warmly welcome to him.
As a beginning, professor Neng-You Wu briefly introduces the research divisions and the recent progresses of the institute and the key lab of the natural gas hydrate, CAS. Afterward, Prof. Hui-Fang Xu gives an oral presentation named “Piezo-electrochemical effect (energy conversion between mechanical and chemical) and its implications in geological systems”. He creatively depicts his work as “the water to wine”. In the end, the research fellows and the graduate students proposed some relative questions and discuss with Pro. Hui-Fang Xu. The young scholars enhanced the horizon through this academic exchange.
