Dec. 7, first session of the academic committee for the first meeting of the Key laboratory of Gas Hydrate, Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was held in the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion. 14 members of the laboratory academic committee, one supervisor from the Frontier Science and Education of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, BAI xuerui, key laboratory of the management committee members, and key laboratory of academic staff attended this meeting. The director of the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, WU Chuangzhi, and the deputy director of the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, WU Nengyou attended this meeting. This meet was hosted by the director of key laboratory, Li Xiaosen, and the director of academic committee, Chen Duofu. WU Chuangzhi and BAI xuerui made speech.

First, the member hire ceremony for the Key laboratory of the academic committee was held. Afterwards, Prof. Li Xiaosen made a speech about the development plan about the key laboratory. The experts and leaders agree that after listen to the report, and they discussed the future plan for the laboratory development. They propose very important suggestions for the key laboratory development.

In the afternoon, academic report of key laboratory was carried out. 6 staff from laboratory made report about hydrate exploration potential evaluation in Northern waters of the South China Sea, Natural gas hydrate basic physical property, hydrate exploration simulation, molecular simulation, and gas separation by hydrate method.
