The 6th Sino-Thai Workshop on Renewable Energy Convened in Guangzhou

The 6th Sino-Thai Workshop on Renewable Energy has been held in Guangzhou from Jan. 27, 2015 to Jan. 30, 2015. Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences Liu Congqiang, Deputy Director of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and Prof. Soottiporn Chittmittrapap, general secretary of National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) participated in and gave a speech on it. The coordinators from China and Thailand are respectively Professor Ma Longlong who acts as vice president of Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Prof. Tanongkiat Kiatsiriroat from Chiang Mai University, Thailand.

The Sino-Thai Workshop on Renewable Energy is a bilateral conference supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), alternately held by China and Thailand each year. Up to now, five workshops have been held with great successfully. The sixth mainly focused on the basic scientific research and conversion technology development of three fields including biomass energy, solar energy and building energy conservation.

48 experts from 20 universities or research institutes of China and Thailand attended the workshop. At the meeting, they exchanged research progress in their respective research fields, enhanced mutual understanding and reached preparatory cooperation intention concerning joint research.
