On January 13, 2016, Liu Yubin, the president of Dalian Minzu University (DMU) led a delegation of 10 person visited Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion (GIEC).  

Prof. Li Haibin, the deputy director of GIEC, warmly welcomed the delegation and briefly introduced GIEC. Then the delegation introduced the DMU’s research fields and corresponding application. The president Liu Yubin was impressed by GIEC’s scientific research accomplishments on renewable energy and new energy, hoping that DMU and GIEC would have opportunities to cooperate on biomass energy and wind-solar hybrid energy fields. For example, we can utilize plants, such as shiny-leaved yellow horn in Xinjiang area, as a raw material to produce biodiesel in the near future. 

After the conference, the delegation visited biomass center, ocean energy lab and natural gas hydrate labs.
