Project “strategy research about natural gas hydrate (NGH) exploration and exploitation technology”, which was untaken by Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion and Guangzhou Center for Gas Hydrate Research, CAS passed mid-term evaluation. The evaluation was organized by The Chinese Academy of Engineering.

As the responsible person of the project, Professor WU Nengyou reported the progress and the major achievement obtain so far.

Based on the information acquired previously, project team did lot of research and collected more information about current exploration and exploitation situation of NGH in home and aboard. Furthermore, symposium about strategy research of NGH exploration and exploitation technology was organized. The key research in the coming 10-30 years was highlighted.

In the project, it also conducted the research on how economy development and energy demand in our country influence NGH exploration and exploitation; moreover, the relationships among of NGH exploration and exploitation, political, economy, technology and social development were studied; program research on NGH exploration and exploitation of China in permafrost region was conducted and achievement of the current stage was obtained.
