China, Sweden Push for Cooperation in Synthetic Fuel Technology

2010-10-26

The Sino-Sweden Pilot Laboratory of Liquid Fuel Synthesis from Biomass Gasification was established in Mid-Sweden University on October 14, 2010.

It involves joint efforts from Swedish National Forest Research Center (SNFRC) who has invested SEK 4.5 million in its construction, and Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion (GIEC) responsible for system designs of it, including reforming and purification of biogas, components adjusting and catalytic synthesis system.

Dr. WANG Tiejun from GIEC debugged the pilot system of the Lab and delivered a report titled “Production of Liquid Fuels from Biomass Gasification”in SNFRC where both sides made an arrangement for future cooperation including talents exchange.

Being rich in forest resources, Sweden takes biomass energy represented by forest wastes as the priority choice in national energy utilization.
