On July 13, 2012, the launching meeitng of the project “Key Technology of Efficient Production of Natural Gas from Energy Herb” and “Research of Producing Aviation Fuel by Biomass Aqueous Catalysis” is convened in Guangzhou.

Prof. Wu Nengyou, vice president of Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, extended sincere thanks for the strong support given by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and also assured that best environment would be provided by our institute for the successful completion of the projects. Prof. Ma Longlong, Party Secretary of GIEC and also the chief scientist of the project, briefly introduced the structure of the project, especially focusing on the importance of rules of project management and communication between partner organizations. It is expected that not only the project can be successfully finished but also by that time the research strategy for “The Thirteenth Five-year Plan” can initially take shape.

The project is jointly undertaken by GIEC, China Agricultural University, University of Science and Technology Beijing, South China University of Technology and East China University of Science&Technology. Project leaders and backbone researchers from these organizations introduced detailed division of work, technology plan, and project management methods, etc, to the expert team, who proposed several suggestions for assuring the successful implementation of the project.
