The Project “100 KW Floating Wave Energy Station Key Technology and Demonstration”Successfully Passed Acceptance Inspection
On June 14th, 2013, the project “100 KW Floating Wave Energy Station Key Technology and Demonstration”, which is undertaken by Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, CAS, was announced being successfully passing the acceptance inspection.
The project enhanced the equipment’s ability to resist typhoon by applying the dive and mooring energy storage technology; realized efficient wave energy absorption throughunderwater appendage technology, special track driving technology, and hierarchical control technology; raised equipment’s second and third level conversion efficiency through mechanical hydraulic autonomous control technology and energy storage stability technology; realized low-cost launch and recycle of the equipment through semi-submersible barge technology.
The project was carried out by Prof. YOU Yage and his team. During the implementation, they published 10 papers, applied for 6 invention patents, and nurtured 3 Doctors and 7 Masters.
