GZ national low carbon pilot project meeting is held

On August 30, 2014,the 2013 CDM grants project” GZ national low carbon pilot project” meeting was held in Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Decision makers from The National Development and Reform Commission, Guangdong Development and Reform Commission. Guangzhou Development and Reform Commission, project undertaking entities and experts from Academic institutions attended the meeting.

The project manager Prof. Liao Cuiping,. introduced the whole contents and framework of the project to the participating experts and leaders.  researchers made reports on low-carbon urban construction and the greenhouse gases list in the application of low carbon city, south green building standards and reduction potential, urban green traffic planning and experiences, the overall framework of ecological compensation mechanism, ocean carbon sink calculation method and deduction mechanism of carbon emissions.. and discussed three issues: low carbon urban policy and theory, low carbon city solution, design and practice of urban ecological compensation mechanism

During the meeting, the experts discussed about the project reports and the further work plan. They hoped the research work can fully integrated the actual situation of the Guangzhou the research results can guide and promote the low-carbon urban construction and development in Guangzhou. they also put forward many constructive comments and suggestions from the key problems such as peak research methods, industrial structure, price policy, objectives, key problems, economic development growth  and so on.

Finally, director, Wu Chuangzhi from Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences expressed support for the project, Vice director, Zhao Daiqing said the following research work will further deepen the innovation research methods and contents, strived for high quality project research work.
