The startup meeting of 2014 Technology Aid Project for Developing Countries, “Demonstration of Biomass Gasification Power Generation Technology in Pakistan”, supported by Ministry of Science & Technology of People’s Republic of China, was held in Guangzhou during April 8th to 12th, 2015.
Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion (GIEC), Chinese Academy of Sciences, is the undertaking organization of the project.
University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) is the project cooperation partner in Pakistan. Prof. Dr. Allah Bakhsh, Dean of Faculty of Agri. Engineering and Technology, Dr. Anjum Munir, Chairman of Department of Energy Systems Engineering, and Dr. Rana Basharat Ali, Project Director of Punjab Bio-energy Institute, UAF, were invited to attend the startup meeting.
The major research directions and achievements of GIEC were introduced to the Pakistani guests by Professor Haibin Li, the Principal Investigator of the project. The Pakistani guests were invited to visit the laboratories of Biomass Energy Research Center in GIEC and Sanshui Energy and Environmental Technology Innovation & Incubation Center in Foshan city.
Project details such as configuration, timeline and et al. were discussed and confirmed by both sides. Moreover, issues on exchanging of personnel and biomass energy research laboratories construction in UAF were also discussed.
PS. The cooperation agreement between GIEC and UAF was signed in Lahore, Pakistan in 2013.
