The International Training Workshop on Renewable Energy Technology and Industry Development in Belt & Road countries was successfully held by Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, CAS (GIEC) from November 6 to Nov. 20, 2018 in Guangzhou. This workshop was sponsored by the International Cooperation Bureau of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The workshop aims at strengthening cooperation in renewable energy among OBOR countries and regions. 16 participants from Pakistan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Benin, Senegal, Tanzania, and Mali attended the workshop.
Lectures ranged from renewable energy policies to technologies, covering biomass energy, offshore renewable energy system, geothermal power plants, Solar PV & thermal system, Gas hydrates, wind energy, electro-chemical energy, fuel cell and so on. The participants were enriched with abundant knowledge of renewable energy which shall be very useful to develop the systems in their home country.
At the same time, a special exchange session was also carried out during the workshop, in which the participants from 8 countries by turns introduced their innovation policies, renewable energy research and application status, and their practical needs.
